How’d you get into education? It’s tough to say, but TAing definitely influenced my path towards education. I am drawn to teaching because it offers me the chance to be a positive influence in a young person’s life.
What is your purpose in education? My hope is to provide students from the South Bronx with the valid education they deserve. I want to teach my students to think in a scientific way and to be curious about the world around them. Too many people are intimidated by chemistry, my goal is to remove the stigma that chemistry is an inaccessible science.
Anything else you’d like to add: It’s easy to be a teacher, but it takes a lot to be a GOOD teacher.
